Poetry: fix the sign by Detrick Hughes

Share this post:

don’t mistake me
for lonely
even If worry scratches your brow

know

I have Never sipped from a cup of regret
and I do not dine on sarcasm

but Sometimes, honestly,
I miss the sweet
or Who I wanted her to be

late
when a body Echos
cold sweats
and chases the darkness

a-way

there are unruly moments
when my left hand finds the right

sneaking to remember her skin
coco butter cream

between the tips of careless fingers

we are not meant to see
how easily
we Misplace what was tomorrow

and pillow cases become mile markers
for dreamers
